Description:
The Airbus A330-300 is a long-range wide-bodied aircraft that was manufactured starting in the early 1990's with its first flight in November of 1992. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4170 engines with a thrust rating of 70,000 lbs of thrust per engine. Like the A320 family that preceeded it, the A330 uses the digital 'Fly-By-Wire' flight control system which utilizes two off set joy sticks for the Captain and First Officer sides of the cockpit. Northwest took its first delivery of the A330-300 in August 2003 and used it on European routes until the merger in 2009. In this time, Northwest became the largest owner and flier of A330s in the world
