Description:

The Airbus A319 is a short- to medium-range narrow-bodied aircraft that was first manufactured in the early to mid-1990's with its first flight in 1992. It is powered by two CFM56-5A3 engines with a thrust rating of 23,500 lbs of thrust per engine. It uses the digital 'Fly-By-Wire' flight control system which utilizes two off set joy sticks for the Captain and First Officer sides of the cockpit. Northwest took its first delivery of the A319 in 1994 and used it on domestic routes until the merger with Delta Airlines in 2009.
